On Thursday, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Chevrolet Bolt, the first ever battery-electric production vehicle with more than 200 miles of range on a single charge, grabbed the award for the 2017 Green Car of the Year.

This vehicle is said to cause quite a ripple in the electric vehicle market as it comes with a pretty low price tag of $35,000 for a car that can reach an approximate 238 miles on an electric charge.

The only other car that has similar miles of range is made by Tesla which rakes an average price of between $80,000 to $100,00.

“The 2017 Bolt EV is a game-changing electric vehicle that delivers long range at an affordable price,” said the marketing director of Chevrolet Cars & Crossovers, Steve Majoros.

Mojoros added that the all-new Bolt will be coming to dealerships across the United States “later this year.”

The Los Angeles Auto Show, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, would go on until November 27.
