Evatran Offers Charging Alternative For Tesla Model S

You probably knew about the robotic charging arm prototype Tesla’s been working on lately, and how magnificent of an invention it is that looks as though it’s based off from sci-fi movies. But seems like technology company Evatran could provide a substitute for the robotic charger with one of their wireless charging option, just for the Tesla Model S.

If the name sounds unfamiliar to you, do note that Evatran has already been offering inductive charging pads for the Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf as well as the Cadillac ELR, so it’s not new to the scene. And now it’s started to take pre-orders for its Model S system, way before shipments actually commence in April. So that’s quite a big deal for them.

For interested customers, all they’ve got to do is to reserve a Model S charging pad with a $244 deposit and they’ll be able to use the charger without any software changes. There’s a 35-lb adapter that needs to be installed on the underbelly of the car and another pad on the floor of the garage, and your Model S would be pumped up for a charge.

It’s going to be quite a milestone for the Tesla’s charging technology and we’re sure that there would also be a strong demand for this charging option Evatran is providing. Unless they want to look cool with the robotic charging arm, the wireless option is far more practical, right?
