Ford Bows Down To Trump

By  |

Ford had previously received a whole lot of backlash from Donald Trump due to its huge Mexican investments.

However, following Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections, Ford is aiming to patch things up and work with the new president.

Christin Baker, Ford’s spokeswoman, stated that, “We agree with Mr. Trump that it is really important to unite the country, and we look forward to working together to support economic growth and jobs.”

During Trump’s campaign, he had said several times that if he was elected as the president he would restrict Ford from opening a new factory in Mexico as well as impose high taxes on its vehicles.

“Let me give you the bad news: Every car, every truck and every part manufactured in this plant that comes across the border, we’re going to charge you a 35 percent tax,” clarified Trump.

It looks like Ford has no other alternatives except to comply with Trump’s demands now but to what extend is still not out in the open. We’ll just have to wait to see how it pans out.
