Ford Fiesta ST200: Better Than The RS You’ve Expected

By  |

Expect to see a much-improved Fiesta ST at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, in the form of a Ford Fiesta ST200. If you’ve been awaiting for the ‘RS’ model, put that aside because the ST200 is the real deal; it’s going to wow the Geneva crowds and we’re pretty sure of it.

The notable improvements for the ST200 include a recalibrated version of the former’s 1.6-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which delivers 197 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. It’s worth mentioning that those figures could also be temporarily increased to 212 hp and 236 lb-ft for 15 seconds upon using the transient overboost.

You could also be expecting for the Fiesta ST200 to sport an enhanced Torque Vectoring Control and a 3-mode Electronic Stability Control on its chassis. There’s also some awesome-possum modified front steering knuckles, a stiffer and 15mm lower suspension, a sharper and quicker steering rack as well as bigger rear brake discs.

If you’re wondering when the Fiesta ST200 starts selling fresh from the oven, sales will begin as early as June this year, along with first deliveries before the end of summer. So you might probably want to get your pay checks ready before that happens. Are you looking forward to seeing it in the metal?
