Forget The 6c & 7, Because An “iPhone 5se” Might Be Out In March

By  |

It turns out that Apple is preparing to have the iPhone 5se released this March, rather than the iPhone 6c that was reported earlier. And it’s going to feature some great enhancements that you wouldn’t want to miss. Just what does the “se” stands for?

The phone has a codename though, “N69”, but will be officially named as the iPhone 5se when it releases in due time. And if you were wondering what the “se” could possibly mean, Apple employees claim that it basically signifies a “special edition” of the phone that’s dubbed to be the 4-inch iPhone screen with an “enhanced” edition of the iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 5se is an “se” for a reason, so these are some of the improvements that we can expect based on what it will reportedly have:

– A curved glass similar to the new iPhones
– There’s an 8MP main camera at the back, and a 1.2MP front camera for selfies and video calls
– It includes an NFC chip that’s designed for Apple Pay
– It provides autofocus support used for video recording, plus larger panoramas
– It’s home to the A8 and M8 chips present in the iPhone 6
– It features a barometer to track elevation (how cool is that?!)
– It includes VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2 plus 802.11ac WiFi chips which borrows from the iPhone 6s
– Available in Space Grey, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold colours, like the iPhone 6s
– It features Live Photos just like in the iPhone 6s

And there have been reports suggesting that Apple is mass producing the phone too. So, there’s that to look forward to, but probably we’ll just have to take it with a grain of salt for now.
