Freedom 251 Is World’s Cheapest Smartphone: Just $4

By  |

We’re not kidding. The Freedom 251 is a brand new smartphone made by Indian-based company called the Ringing Bells, and is set to be launched on the 18th of February with a price tag of Rs 251 (which is just $4). Heck, it’s only $4, so you should brace yourselves for this post to be repeating that figure countless of times.

So why it’s priced at that unbelievably low price tag? Apparently, the company seems to be very thoughtful. Ringing Bells envisions the citizens of India to be equipped with current digital times without having to worry about the high prices that are associated with most smartphones that are out there in the overcrowded market. Smart move, we must say.

And if you’re wondering what’s packed in the Freedom 251, it’s 4-inch screen comes with dHD IPS display of a pixel resolution of 960 x 540. The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and features a 1 GB of RAM, and not forgetting, the 251 is also going to be running on the Android Lollipop 5.1 system.

The Freedom 251 is also built for avid selfie takers, as it’s touch less technology works ideally for selfie lovers. With its 3G radio and housing a 1,450 mAh battery, it’s also good to know that it’s pre-installed with several apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Google Play and Women Safety, just to name a few. We definitely can’t wait to get our hands on the 251 so stay tuned for a review in the near future.
