Hyundai Santa Cruz: Waiting For Production Greenlight, Still Ugly

By  |

A while ago, we mentioned about this compact pick-up crossover and how it is just arguably the most unappealing car we’ve ever seen. Not to sound extremely bias, but we’re still not changing our perception about the car.

And it seems like they might just be waiting in line for the Korean automaker to put it into production. The clearest indication we’ve gotten so far is only that of the signs have been looking good, but other than that, we’re just going to have to wait until this becomes a reality. For some strange reason, we’re a little disappointed by the fact that it’s even made to the point of waiting in line for production, because come on, with a hideous design like that, would there really be a demand for it?

Hyundai first unveiled the Santa Cruz concept at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and upon looking at it the first time, there won’t be any chance of it leaving our imagination (because of its uniquely hideous look). Well, maybe it really has a demand for it… but we certainly ain’t gonna be the first in line to book this car, that’s for sure.

For the last few years, Hyundai has been sculpting way too many lines into their cars, to the point of ridiculous, AKA “ugly”. But it didn’t stop me from buying one, as they are mechanically sound, very fuel efficient, and comfortable to sit in for commuting. Pretty much similar reasons that I used for a wife. And, it works.
