Misleading Facebook News Suggests Sega’s Launch Of “Dreamcast 2”

By  |

Now, here’s prove that not everything you read on the Internet is true. Case being that you might actually find yourself very excited over the little news on Facebook suggesting, “Dreamcast 2 To Release On New PC-Console Hybrid”. But don’t be too excited over this piece of news, because it actually is just a hoax.

Though “Dreamcast 2” may just be hogging all over your Facebook’s Trending Topics (and possibly on your News Feed), you might just be reading some of the half-truths and incorrect information it publishes, because for some reason, it fails to be a reliable source of information.

Well, if you’re wondering how the fuss started, it’s apparently caused by a group of Sega devotees who wanted to convince the Japanese developer for some sort of “Dreamcast Revival” sequel. And the fans gave out some interviews over several websites, eventually leading on to some of the most eye-catching but incorrect titles netizens have ever seen, such as, “Dreamcast 2 Reportedly Under Development” or “The Sega Dreamcast 2 Wants To Answer PC Gamers’ Wishes”.

In other words, these are just a group of eager fans with ambitious goals. Don’t take these news too seriously, eh? Cue in the disappointment, guys, because this ain’t happening anytime soon.

My friend works at Sega Of Europe and he has told me that the Dreamcast 2 is planned to be under development if there isn’t any negitivity going around with the fans. They have even already gotten a price for the console ($250US) already planned.
