Motorola DROID Turbo Finally Gets Marshmallow Goodies!

By  |

Verizon has just made many Motorola DROID Turbo users happy by finally bringing the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to the device. The one month of testing is now over and the update has begun to arrive to devices in the country.

Despite the carrier service’s support page of the DROID Turbo lacking in this info, a couple of users have claimed that the OTA update is now up for download.

If you are one of DROID Turbo user who have waited for what seems like forever for this update, look out for the firmware number 24.81.5.en.US. This is a huge download so expect about a 25 minute wait for it to be completed.

There isn’t any information on whether this update will be bringing the latest security patch from Google but it is confirmed that the Marshmallow update will include features such as Now on Tap, Doze Mode and Wi-Fi Calling, among other impressive features.

However, seeing that the DROID Turbo is already 2-years-old, it seem very likely that the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will be its final update which confirms that this device will never see the Nougat update, unless, of course, you opt for third-party software.

Well, for now, it’s best you hop on the Marshmallow wagon and enjoy it while it’s good!
