Samsung Galaxy A5 Headed For Android 7.0 Nougat

Despite the Samsung Galaxy A5 being over two-years-old, the Seoul-based smartphone manufacturer will still carry on supporting the device with major Android updates in the near future.

The Galaxy A5, released back in 2014 with Android 4.4 KitKat, had managed to find its way to the Marshmallow update, thanks to Samsung releasing two major Android OS updates to it.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow was kicked of to all Galaxy A5 devices in August this year and many folks had assumed that would be the last of it. However, that is pretty much far from the truth.

A vital Australian carrier, Optus, affirmed that Samsung Galaxy A5 will be receiving another major update in January 2017. This would be the highly anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat. Based on carrier, the update is already began testing and it is slated to arrive late next month.

Although this has only been affirmed by one major carrier in Australia, there is no reason to believe that Samsung will not be pushing out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to all Galaxy A5 devices around the world.
