Samsung Galaxy S6: Mystery Of Android 7.0 Nougat

By  |

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 pushed out of the way, the first two devices from Samsung to receive Android 7.0 Nougat would be the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Instead of reaching by late Q1 2017, the update could arrive to users by the end of this year.

It’s also worth noting that this development would result in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge moving up the pecking order in terms of software support.

In other words, the 2015 flagships might be getting Nougat earlier than expected, though when it was thought to arrive before this is anyone’s guess.

This update is really important for Galaxy S6/Edge users because of how problematic the devices have proven to be. With an advanced version of Doze Mode in Nougat, it would surely be of more help to their substandard battery life.

The smoother and cleaner Grace UX launcher has shown itself to be a major boon to Galaxy Note 7 users, and the good news is that the new UI has been confirmed for the Galaxy S7 and its sibling when Nougat shows up – but what about the Galaxy S6 and its sibling?

There hasn’t been any word on whether they would be in line for Grace UX when they get their fair share of the latest Android software update, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t eventually arrive.

Wearing a less cluttered launcher might turn out to help the Galaxy S6 flagships with energy wastage through minimizing their tendency to overheat. But we wouldn’t really know until it actually arrives.
